No grey areas – Photographing Stockholm Pride 2026

There are festivals that entertain, and then there are festivals that remind you what a society can aspire to be. Stockholm Pride is the largest Pride festival in Scandinavia and it is far more than a celebration of colour and music. It is a vibrant expression of visibility, equality, and the enduring belief that everyone deserves the freedom to love openly and live authentically. From rainbow flags lining the streets to powerful moments of solidarity during the Pride Parade, every corner of Stockholm seemed to pulse with joy, courage, and community.

As someone new to experiencing Stockholm through a camera lens, I found myself drawn less to the spectacle and more to the people behind it; the smiles, embraces, kisses, unapologetic self-expression, and quiet moments that often say the most. These photographs are my attempt to capture not only one of Sweden’s most iconic annual events, but also the warmth, diversity, and humanity that make Pride resonate far beyond the LGBTQ+ community.

This gallery is a celebration of people being exactly who they are – and a reminder that the brightest colours shine brightest when everyone is free to stand together.

Pride is about visibility and connection. If this gallery moved you, pass it on and let’s keep the conversation and the colours alive.
